Wednesday night in PL middle school was awesome. God really showed up in our worship. We are in the middle of a series called Others First and Wednesday night we talked about how we are not saved by serving, but we are saved to serve. Galatians 5:13 was where the talk started. "You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love." Galatians 5:13 (NIV). What we learned was that
- The start of serving others is Salvation, "You were called to be free"
- The barrier to serving others is selfishness, "Do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature"
- The motive for serving others is love, "Serve one another in love"
God has revealed many things to me in this series and I hope that we all open our eyes and realize that there are other people than just who we see in the mirror everyday.
